Two healing miracles
with circumstantial details that still have the impact of witness.
The man who had become crippled let through the roof of a room
where Jesus was preaching, by his workmates determined to help.
The man was confronted by the statement - "Your sins are
fogiven you" as another unexpected element about the account.
The Syro-phonecian woman was a foreigner, intrusive and witty,
determined to get help for her sick daughter. The disciples
say - more or less - give her what she wants to get rid of her:
but Jesus tests her faith. She replies that the little house
dogs feed on the crumbs dropped from the table of the Jews. |
